Biography
Biography: Mr. Hosham Abdalrahman Saied Osman is a PhD candidate at Hunan University in China, supported by the prestigious Chinese Government Scholarship Council (CSC) (2024-2028). He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Biotechnology and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. His doctoral research focuses on the photocatalytic transformation of biomass-derived molecules—such as glucose—into high-value bioactive chemicals like HMF and FDCA using metal-organic framework-based catalysts. This work represents a unique interdisciplinary approach that bridges green chemistry and molecular biology, requiring an in-depth understanding of biomolecular structures, metabolic pathways, and bio-inspired catalytic mechanisms. Mr. Hosham utilizes molecular biology-based analytical tools such as HPLC and spectrometry to investigate sustainable chemical processes with implications for drug discovery, environmental applications, and bioactive compound production. His integration of biocatalysis and photochemistry contributes to both biomedical innovation and environmental sustainability.
